At Côté Bougie, each object tells a story, a tradition, and a know-how that embodies the essence of Morocco. In our Tamtam candle collection, we wanted to capture the beauty and authenticity of Moroccan craftsmanship by collaborating with Abdelghani, a master potter from Marrakech. Passionate about his craft and steeped in a long family tradition, Abdelghani shapes each jar in the Tamtam collection with a deep love and respect for his art, bringing a unique touch to every candle.
A craftsman steeped in Moroccan tradition
Originally from Marrakech, Abdelghani grew up in a family of craftsmen, where he was introduced to the art of pottery from an early age. Watching his father and grandfather at work, he learned to appreciate every step of the process, from the choice of clay to the final firing. Today, he perpetuates this tradition by integrating the techniques and values handed down by his family.
For Abdelghani, the art of pottery is not just a profession, but a true passion. His fascination with the art has led him to hone his skills over the years, exploring different techniques and creating pieces that reflect both his personality and the tradition of his region.
It’s with this same dedication that he collaborates with Côté Bougie, creating exclusive pieces for our Tamtam collection.
The Tamtam collection: an invitation to travel
Our Tamtam scented candle collection doesn’t just release enchanting fragrances; it’s also designed to offer a unique visual and tactile experience. The jars in this collection are inspired by the landscapes of Marrakech, with their natural hues and raw textures reminiscent of the arid land of southern Morocco. Each piece is carefully crafted by hand, using sustainable materials and natural pigments that evoke the warm colors of Morocco.

Abdelghani takes particular care in shaping each pot, using artisanal techniques handed down from generation to generation. With its fine striations and sober finishes, each Tamtam pot is both elegant and authentic, reflecting the meeting of tradition and modernity.
The creative process: a meticulous and patient art
To work with Abdelghani is to discover a craftsman who devotes hours of work to each piece, never rushing.
For him, pottery is an art of patience. Every step is essential, from the choice of clay to drying and firing.
In his workshop on the Route de l’Ourika, he carefully selects the clay and shapes each pot by hand, applying modeling and throwing techniques he has mastered to perfection.
Shooting is a key part of the processThis is where he gives shape to each pot. He shapes the clay with precise, repetitive gestures, until the piece comes to life under his fingers. Next comes the finishing phase, where he applies the delicate striations and patterns that characterize Tamtam pots. Finally, each piece is fired at a high temperature, giving it its strength and durability.
Ethical and responsible craftsmanship
At Côté Bougie, we attach great importance to the sustainability of our products and respect for the environment. Abdelghani shares this vision and favors ecological production methods, selecting natural materials and using firing techniques that reduce environmental impact. This commitment to responsible craftsmanship fits perfectly with our approach to offering products that are both beautiful and respectful of nature.
