In Morocco's Drâa valley, Tamegroute's potters shape each piece by hand, using techniques passed down through generations. The clay is fired in wood-and-palm kilns, which gives the green glaze its shifting tones, drips and small irregularities — part of the pottery's character, part of the character of the pottery.
